Shree Kushal Das left IIM Raipur spell bound after classical performance


IIM Raipur and Spic Macay today organized a classical music concert in the IIM Raipur premises. Well known sitarist Kushal Das was accompanied by Prof. Mukund Bhale on tabla to perform on this occasion. Shree Kushal Das, who has received intensive and rigorous training in advanced sitar techniques and the art of music, started the proceedings by paying homage to his gurus Pt. Yashwant Rao and Pt. Gajanan Tade. He captured the attention of the audiences from the very start and with time audience kept delving deeper into his tunes. The main attraction of the performance was the co-ordination between the two artists which is popularly known as ‘Jugalbandi’. When the end came, the audiences were spell bound by the performance.
It was a privilege and honour for all the students of IIM Raipur to witness one of the finest pieces of music. The splendid melody made deep imprints in their hearts and many of them said that they would keep recollecting the notes that they heard today for a long time.  Shree Kushal Das, the winner of many national awards and an “A” musician of All India Radio and TV, shared his experiences with the students after the program and inspired them to adapt the art. Director Prof. B S Sahay presented souvenirs to the esteemed artists at the end of the performance to express gratitude and appreciation of the students.
