Indian Institute of Management Raipur organized its annual business quiz, X-Quiz-It. The business quiz was conducted by Mr Rajeev Kondapalli, a veteran Quiz Master associated with Dare2Compete.com. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Ankit Aggarwal, the CEO of Dare2Compete.com.
The quiz saw prelims saw over 50 teams participating from major universities of the state including HNLU, NIT Raipur, MATS University, Disha University etc. The quiz master, MrKondapalli, asked questions that were picked from current affairs and were linked to business. The 20 questions in the prelims saw teams debating answers before writing the answers, intense discussions were seen.
The top 6 teams saw 3 teams from IIM Raipur, a corporate team from TCS and from IMI Delhi making to the finals. The IMI, Delhi team was selected from the online prelims where over 500 teams competed for the top spot.
The finals had prize money worth 50,000 on stake and saw 6 rounds of hard core quizzing. There were rounds that focused on companies of India which are the largest in the world in their respective fields. It was followed by rounds on celebrity tweets. The later rounds focused on Ads that were known more for controversy and less otherwise. The quiz master mixed humour well in the questions which would otherwise have had raised eyebrows. The quiz got close in the middle with excellent answers from teams to identify the heir of top companies of India. Some of the people identified included heirs of HCL, Future Group etc. The audience received T shirts at the every round for answering questions that were not answered by teams on the stage.
In the end it was a one way result with the Corporate Team from TCS comprising of Sreekanth and Jayakanthan and Rs25000 in cash and vouchers. The team of Nishant Kara and Tarang Singhal from IIM Raipur came second winning Rs 15000 and vouchers.
The prize distribution ceremony was presided by Prof B S Sahay, Director, IIM Raipur, who congratulated the winning teams. Incidentally the CEO of Dare2Compete.com is also the student of Prof Sahay at IMT Ghaziabad. He motivated the students to do things that are of quality and leave an impact. He also thanked Prof. M Kannadhasan, chairman placement cell and Dr. Pavan Kumar, chairman student’s affairs for guiding through the whole proceedings. He hoped that many more events are organized in the future where students from all over Chhattisgarh get a chance to showcase their mettle before a national audience.
